Stamford Bonding Approved

May 11, 2017

I applaud the State Bond Commission’s approval of $4.6 million loan to be used towards Lawnhill State Moderate Rental development in Stamford.

Lawnhill Terrace is a state-assisted, moderate-rent, family community consisting of two-story garden style buildings with 144 two and three bedroom apartments. It is located in Stamford’s East Side neighborhood.

The funding this loan provides will be used to assist with phase 2 of rehabilitation of 60 housing units at the Lawnhill State Moderate Rental development. Of the 60 units, six will be handicapped accessible.

The construction of this affordable housing will be an enormous help to families of the Stamford community as all units will include new kitchen baths, heating systems and exterior work. I am appreciative of the State Bond Commission and want to thank Gov. Malloy for approving these funds and look forward to seeing the finished rental development.

The State Bond Commission approved this funding during a meeting on Friday, May 12th at 10:30a.m. in Room 1E of the LOB.
