Swearing in Ceremony

January 9, 2025

On Wednesday, I was sworn in to represent the 54th District for my eighth term at the state Capitol. And while it was my eighth swearing in, I assure you it never gets old.

I am humbled and grateful to represent the residents of Mansfield; I look forward to a productive session as the chair the Higher Education & Employment Advancement Committee and also a member of the Government Administration & Elections and Appropriations committees.

I always welcome input and feedback from residents of the 54th District on what they'd like to see happen in Hartford. Below are some tools to help you follow along as the session progresses. I've also included an update on the Mansfield community pool.

Stay Informed
My colleagues and I will tackle numerous important issues over the next five months.

The online resources available for Connecticut residents make it easier than ever to follow along, get involved and stay informed with the legislative process in Hartford.

Here's how you can stay connected and actively participate:

  • The Office of Legislative Research (OLR) provides nonpartisan and unbiased research to members of the General Assembly and their staff. Part of their duties include writing bill analyses, which are summaries of bills in plain language. Click here to check out its website.
  • You can view the Connecticut General Assembly's upcoming events on its schedule on the CGA official website
  • Follow CT-N for live coverage of committee meetings, as well as House and Senate floor debates.
  • You can register to monitor any bill's journey as it goes through the legislative process. By signing up, you can enter the bill number and receive real-time updates. Stay informed with email notifications whenever there's a change in the bill's progress.
  • Visit this website for information on how to testify on a bill at a public hearing.

Together, we can ensure all voices are heard.

Major Issues

Mansfield Pool Update
The Mansfield Community Center provided an update this week about the shutting down and repair of the lap pool. Work on repairing the pool began earlier this week, and is expected to continue through mid-February. More details can be found here.

The link also provides information on choices members have to either freeze, credit or cancel their memberships.

As always, please feel free to email me directly or call my office at (860) 240-8585 if I can be of any assistance.
