At the legislature’s Insurance & Real Estate meeting, a bill to prohibit using the breed of dog to write homeowner or tenant insurance policies has received committee approval.
“I am very happy to see the bill is moving forward so that responsible dog owners can obtain needed fire insurance and homeowners’ coverage to protect their property,” Rep. Megna said. “A pet should not prevent someone from getting insurance and being able to stay in their own home.”
I am honored to continue chairing the Insurance & Real Estate Committee. I will continue to work hard for my constituents as I tackle my responsibilities as committee chair. New Haven will always be my top priority.
In addition, I will also serve on the Energy & Technology and Environment committees.
I am proud to join the New Haven Legislative Delegation and Governor Dannel P. Malloy, and the state Department of Housing (DOH) Commissioner Evonne M. Klein, to announce nearly $32 million in grants for improvements to multifamily housing, infrastructure and public facilities and for planning purposes in cities and towns affected by Superstorm Sandy.
