Funding Approved For Norwalk

December 1, 2017

Norwalk featured prominently in this round of funding for many important projects including a significant amount for improvements to Side By Side Charter School in my district. The Alliance District School Funding will also help us to improve our educational infrastructure and make classrooms more conducive to learning. Xerox funding is essential to ensuring this local business remains in Norwalk and continues to provide and increase employment opportunities. I am pleased that, even in this tough budgetary cycle, we were able to bring the resources home.

Funding approved today for Norwalk includes:

  • $4,400,000 Loan to Xerox Corporation to assist with leasehold improvements, equipment and related project costs for its newly leased headquarters in Norwalk. The company will retain 150 jobs and create 40 jobs within 4 years.
  • $1,080,000 in Alliance District Schools Funding Projects that will include alterations, repairs, improvements, technology and equipment to help address building and site deficiencies, and to promote the health, safety, and learning of the students.
  • $483,663 for the Side By Side Charter School in Norwalk for debt repayment and school ground improvements.
  • $3,406,784 to assist with rehabilitation of the 44 unit Ludlow Commons Congregate Housing development.
  • $908,250 grant for reconstruction of Norwalk’s Visitors’ Dock.
  • $94,476,091 for continuing the replacement project for the Walk Bridge swing bridge on the New Haven Line in Norwalk.
