Napoli Secures Extra Million for Waterbury

March 13, 2020

I am proud to announce that the state has recognized my request for more municipal aid for the City of Waterbury. I worked closely with Finance Committee House chair, Rep. Jason Rojas, to have my funding request included in House Bill 5518. AN ACT AUTHORIZING AND ADJUSTING BONDS OF THE STATE FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS, TRANSPORTATION AND OTHER PURPOSES, AND CONCERNING MUNICIPAL REPORTS ON CERTAIN PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS, VALIDATION OF A REFERENDUM AND HIGHWAY PROJECTS, passed in the House 126 to 20 and 31 to 5 in the Senate. It authorizes the allocation of funds which still must be approved by the Governor and the State Bond Commission.

The additional dollars will help fund vital capital projects that improve the quality of life for all city residents and continue to move Waterbury forward.
