| November 9, 2011 UTILITIES MUST BE ACCOUNTABLE TO CONSUMERS Democratic legislative leaders are calling for a series of measures that wold hold utility companies accountable to consumers for their performance before, during and after disasters. Those initiatives would include requesting financial compensation for customers, directing PURA to expand the current storm docket to establish performance standards for utilities with fines for non-compliance, and a request for an in-depth, independent audit of the utility companies' storm performance.
