Business Community Meets at Capitol

February 10, 2016

I joined with representatives from nine chambers of commerce and business organizations from across Connecticut this morning that signed a letter to Governor Malloy outlining four key elements they say will boost the state economy:

  • Attracting and retaining young talent from all business sectors
  • Ensuring vibrant urban communities
  • Creating a state-of-the-art transportation system
  • Achieving 4% annual household income growth

Business officials are in favor of a proposed constitutional amendment requiring a cap on state spending and emphasize that business growth, along with lower taxes, will replace budget deficits with budget surpluses. I will be working this session to support their request to Governor Malloy to address the significant deficit in the FY’16 budget.
