January 14, 2015

House Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz is pleased to announce that the State Bond Commission has approved a $771,956 grant-in-aid to the town of Southington. The Bond Commission also approved a $950,000 loan to Sign Pro, Inc. to assist with construction of a new facility in Southington. The items were approved by the Commission on Monday, January 12th.

The grant-in-aid to the town of Southington will allow the town to maintain and improve its infrastructure and support services to the community.

“This funding is crucial to our municipalities,” said Aresimowicz. “It is vital to helping our town determine their budget and ensuring that Southington is able to meet our community’s needs despite the tough economic times the state is facing.”

The loan to Sign Pro, Inc. will not only allow the company to expand its operations in Southington, but also retain 35 jobs and create 10 new jobs within two years. The loan will be provided at an interest rate of 2% for ten years. The company will be eligible for forgiveness of $200,000 if it retains 45 jobs for 24 consecutive months.

The items were approved by the Bond Commission on Monday, January 12th.
