Colt Park To Get State Funds

January 27, 2016

State Rep. Angel Arce (D-Hartford) lauded news that the State Bond Commission is expected to approve funding for Hartford’s Colt Park when it meets next Friday.

$450,000 has been allocated to the city of Hartford for the first phase of renovations and improvements to the athletic fields and other related improvements at Colt Park.

“I have been working persistently to secure much needed state funds to restore the beauty of Colt Park,” Rep. Arce said. “This park is one of our local gems and we must continue to work together to bring it back to its prime.”

Arce said, “Our young athletes are anxiously waiting to see these fields improved and ready to maximize their potential. There is a lot of work to be done, but I will not stop until I see this park, including the ice skating rink, back to full functionality. Great things are happening in our city and I am proud to be a part of it.”

The State Bond Commission is slated to approve the item at its meeting on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Room 1E of the Legislative Office Building. This funding is included in item 21 of the agenda.
