Local Schools Get Bonding Grants

State Rep. Angel Arce (D-Hartford) lauded the announcement that the State Bond Commission is expected to approve funding for various local schools within his district at their next meeting scheduled for Friday, January 29.

Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School is scheduled to receive $587,740 for security, HVAC and equipment, and Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Middle School will get $500,000 for renovations and security updates.

Additionally, Two Rivers High School will be getting $2,805,774 for equipment, technology upgrades, building code upgrades, construction and classroom renovations.

“I thank Governor Malloy for keeping education on the state’s priority list,” Rep. Arce said. “Improving our schools and providing safe environments for our students is a valuable and wise investment.”

Rep. Angel Arce is serving his second term representing Hartford’s 4th Assembly District.
