Killingly Gas Plant

August 27, 2020

The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) has scheduled a public hearing on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 9 a.m. concerning the special contract between Yankee Gas and NTE, the developer of the Killingly gas plant.

Expanding gas infrastructure in our state runs counter to our state's goal of reducing emissions 45 percent below 2001 levels by 2030 and 80 percent by 2050, as defined in Connecticut's Global Warming Solutions Act. Increasing reliance on gas also fails to comply with the governor's 100 percent carbon-free power by 2040 target.
