Stamford Benefits From Federal Funds

February 29, 2016

The state of Connecticut is getting $20,000,000 from the Federal Highway Administration. The funds will be divided among three transit districts and 10 cities and towns, including the city of Stamford. Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced the grants yesterday and I’m pleased to let you know that $3,000,000 has been allocated to Stamford. These funds will be used to upgrade and synchronize traffic signals at numerous intersections along Route 1. I’m sure you’re aware that these improvements are very much needed. The next step involves coordination between the Connecticut Department of Transportation and the city of Stamford. After that, construction and implementation can begin.

I want to thank Governor Malloy and the FHA for making this happen.
