Redistricting

November 22, 2021

Redistricting is the process by which new Congressional and State Legislative district boundaries are drawn. Redistricting occurs every ten years following a U.S. Census. This process was delayed this year because of the pandemic and the delayed census results. In Connecticut, it is a bi-partisan committee that works to draw the lines. I appreciate all the time and effort these legislators committed to this difficult process.

The new district maps for the CT House of Representatives were unanimously passed on Thursday. As you can see from the map below, the 28th House District changed slightly. It will remain a one town seat in Wethersfield with a few additional streets carved out to be included in the 29th House District currently served by Representative Kerry Wood of Rocky Hill.
