Upcoming Events in our Community

May 13, 2022
I hope you’ll join me for one of the following events, an in-person legislative wrap-up with the League of Women Voters, the state’s National Prevention Week event at the Discovery Museum, and the annual Fairfield CARES Community Event featuring Marc Brackett, Yale professor, internationally acclaimed author, and emotional intelligence researcher.

I hope you will join the Fairfield Delegation tomorrow, Saturday, May 14 from 10AM - 12PM for an end-of-session wrap-up. This is a great opportunity to learn about all the work we accomplished in Hartford throughout the session, and for you to ask us any questions you may have. I hope to see you there!

National Prevention Week (NPW) runs from May 8-14 The statewide prevention week event will be held at the Discovery Museum on Park Avenue from 10-3 on Sunday, May 14. Events, information, and resources will be available for parents and children throughout the day. I hope you will come take advantage of the opportunity to strengthen community, build resilience, and create hope.

Fairfield CARES Community Event
Parents and teens are invited to join Fairfield CARES Community Coalition on Wednesday, May 18 at 7PM. Over 225 people have already registered to hear from Marc Brackett, Ph.D., Founder and Director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and author of the acclaimed book "Permission to Feel: Unlocking the Power of Emotions to Help Our Kids, Ourselves, and Our Society Thrive.” He is an engaging speaker, with a message that is important not only for parents and teens, but adults of all ages. This is a tremendous opportunity for our community and I am grateful that Professor Brackett has accepted our invitation.
