Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz (D - Berlin/Southington) has been named a ‘2015 Community Champion’ by the Connecticut Community Providers Association (CCPA). Aresimowicz was recognized for his continued support and efforts on behalf of non-profit community providers who serve Connecticut’s most vulnerable citizens.

“I’m honored to receive this recognition from the CCPA,” said Aresimowicz. “I have heard from hundreds of constituents and Connecticut residents who rely on the important and necessary services that our community providers deliver. It is crucial that we at the legislature continue to support the vital work they do.”

The Connecticut Community Providers Association is the state trade association representing organizations that provide health and human services and supports for children, adults and families in the areas of mental health, substance use disorders, developmental disabilities, child and family health and wellbeing and other related issue areas. Community providers deliver quality health and human services to about 500,000 of Connecticut’s residents each year.

"The speech delivered by House Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz in support of funding for human services during last spring's budget debate showed his strong support for the half-million Connecticut residents who rely on community-based services,” said Jeffrey Walter, Interim CEO of the CCPA. “Every year providers make our case to the General Assembly for adequate funding, some years more successfully than others. We are enormously grateful for Representative Aresimowicz's understanding of our client needs, and his ongoing support."

Joe Aresimowicz is serving his sixth term representing the 30th Assembly District of Berlin and Southington in the Connecticut General Assembly, where he is House Majority Leader.
