It is with great pleasure that I announce all three Democrats won in special elections for the Connecticut legislature.
Anabel Figueroa, James Sanchez, and Kai Belton will all be sworn into office soon at the State Capitol and two of them are making history. State Representative Elect Anabel Figueroa is the first Latina to represent the great city of Stamford. State Representative Elect Kai Belton is the first Black woman to represent Middletown. Congratulations to all!
I cannot wait to serve alongside our newest members. I look forward to their rapid transition as we reach the final few weeks of committee work before the full session in chambers.

Being in the top three states to study medicine, Connecticut is lucky to have so many amazing hospitalists. Each year, our state's hospitals provide care for more than 330,000 patients admitted to their facilities, accounting for nearly 1.9 million days of inpatient care.
