Funding for New Traffic Signals in Groton!
Good News! The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that they are developing plans to upgrade existing traffic control signal equipment in 15 locations throughout the state, and two intersections in Groton have been identified to receive the proposed upgrades.
- Route 12 at Walker Hill Rd. & Toll Gate Rd. - Intersection in front of Chipotle and Jersey Mikes
- Route 12 at Crystal Lake Rd. - Intersection by the base
At these locations, pedestrian control features (countdown pedestrian indications, accessible push-buttons, sidewalk ramps) will be upgraded to improve accessibility and pedestrian safety.
The design plans for this project are expected to be completed in May 2025 with a tentative advertising date of July 2025.
