Still Here to Help You

July 7, 2023

The Legislative Session has officially adjourned until February 2024. But our work goes on! Although we are not still convening public hearings or voting on bills, I want to make sure to stay in touch with you over the summer. To that end, I will be sending these "e-blasts" every other week (on average) and as needed if something urgent comes up.

Please know my staff and I are here to help you with:

  • troubleshooting Executive Branch agency requests you may have;
  • bond packages for our towns;
  • commemorative citations for notable people in our communities;
  • keeping you informed on town resources; and
  • being your source of info when you don't know where else to turn.

I've already started meeting with folks on legislative ideas for the next session - please don't hesitate to reach out if you want to meet!

Finally, I'll be making the rounds in all four of the towns I represent with my "Government 101" presentation. This is a short (20-minute) slide show about how you can make your voice heard at the Capitol. My aim is to demystify how government operates, how laws are passed, how the budget is constructed, and most of all, how you can be a part of the process. I can't overstate the importance of your testifying on pending bills!!

Please email me (Christine.palm@cga.ct.gov) if you'd like me to present this to your affiliate group - book club, garden club, neighborhood organization, summer school class, senior center, etc. NO group is too small! This is a non-partisan presentation; regardless of whether or not you agree with my stances on issues, this guide will help you understand the legislative process and enhance your ability to be part of it.

Have a great, safe summer!
