Veterans Inc. New Britain Receives Funds

Homelessness continues to be a challenge for Connecticut's and our nation's veterans - the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development 2014 Point-In-Time and Housing Inventory report counted 49,933 veterans homeless on a single night.

17 units of rental housing for homeless veterans will be created through the State Department of Housing’s Flexible Housing Program, which helps individuals reestablish themselves and achieve personal and financial independence.

The White House and VA issued a plan in 2010 to end Veteran homelessness by the end of 2015 and Connecticut has been a leader in joining the call for transitioning veterans off the streets.
