Wall Street Train Station

NORWALK — State Rep. Christopher R. Perone announced Friday that he will request as part of the state’s upcoming biennial budget $250,000 to explore the feasibility of adding a train station to the Wall Street neighborhood of Norwalk.

“Transit-oriented development in the Wall Street area will help this neighborhood develop and grow,” said Perone, chief transportation financial officer for House Democrats. “We have seen redevelopment, like the Wall Street Theater, increasing transportation options will increase opportunities to grow.”

In a statement released Friday afternoon, Perone, D-Norwalk, noted that the Wall Street area is not as accessible by mass transit as are other parts of Norwalk.

“The first step is increasing access to public transportation — money and development will follow access,” Perone said.
