Stamford Pre-K Programs Eyed for $75,000 State Grant

“Giving children a head start on their education is money well spent,” said Rep. Dan Fox (D-Stamford). “The positive experience prepares students for their future and really pays dividends down the road with these children becoming successful adults.”

During the 2014 legislative session, the legislature created the Smart Start program to expand preschool statewide in public school settings. The program is helping create a new classroom in Stamford.

The first Smart Start classrooms are set to open this fall in 14 communities throughout the state, providing an additional 416 three- and four-year-olds with high-quality preschool.
