Taking Oath of Office

January 9, 2019

I am extremely honored to have been sworn in as a freshman legislator to serve my constituents in Middletown. I am also excited to share that I have been appointed Vice Chair of the Executive and Legislative Nominations Committee by Speaker Joe Aresimowicz and Majority Leader Matt Ritter.

This assignment is a pivotal role in vetting commissioners and other state leaders Governor Elect Ned Lamont will put forward in ensuring Connecticut is a great place to live, work, and thrive. I will ask tough questions of nominees on how equity will guide their work in making Connecticut better.

I have also been appointed to serve as a member on the Finance Revenue & Bonding Committee and Government Administration and Elections Committee. I'm thrilled to work directly on expanding residents of Connecticut rights to voting access such as no-excuse absentee ballots and early voting. I also look forward to creating more equitable taxation policy and community focused investments from Connecticut's bonding process.
