Norwich Public Utilities to receive state funds

May 12, 2017

The Connecticut State Bond Commission approved $5 million in funding to Norwich Public Utilities for necessary updates to the Stoney Brook and Deep River water treatment plants, the Occum Storage Tank, rehabilitation of water mains and extension of a water main to interconnect with the Sprague Water and Sewer Authority public water system.

I am grateful to the governor for adding this critical funding to the bonding agenda. Access to clean and safe drinking water is essential for our daily lives. Updating and maintaining treatment plants is a critical component to keeping our water systems in top shape.
