Lamont Outlines Budget

February 20, 2019

Governor Lamont unveiled his proposal for a two-year budget.

It is not easy to put forward a balanced budget, so I appreciate the work that Governor Lamont and his team did that led to the document he presented today. You can read it here:

There were some ideas he put forward that I hope stay in the final budget; and, of course, there are some ideas I hope we can avoid.

Over the next few weeks, I will be working with my colleagues to ask the administration and state agencies about the Governor’s budget proposal. And I need to hear from you- what did you like? What did you not like? Where can we find savings? Where are the right ways to raise revenue?

A good budget reflects our values as a state. Help me craft a final product that makes CT an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
