Puerto Rican Day At The Capitol Is May 29

Please join us as we celebrate Puerto Rican Day at Capitol on Wednesday, May 29, with a roundtable discussion titled “Somos de Aquí” that focuses on the rich history of the people and culture of Puerto Rico in Connecticut through the eyes of historians, academics, local and state leaders, and students.

The forum will be followed by a legislative reception at the State Capitol featuring special presentations, hors d'oeuvres, special guests from the Connecticut General Assembly and local Puerto Rican stakeholders.

Our list of speakers include: Dr. Elsa Nuñez, Dr. Zula Toro, Fernando Betancourt, the Honorable Wildaliz Bermudez, Gladis Rivera, Joseph Rodriguez, John Torres, Honorable Geraldo Reyes Jr. and the Honorable Edwin Vargas.

The forum will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Room 2B of the Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford.

A reception will be held afterward from 4:45 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the State Capitol building, 210 Capitol Ave., Hartford.
