Dear Neighbor,
Sad news this week, as I said goodbye to a good man and friend, Mr. Frank Molinaro.
Although we seemed like complete opposites, we actually had a lot in common. When he learned that I had lost a son, he took me out to lunch and shared a deeply personal tragedy of his own: the death of two young sons.
I’ll miss our almost quarterly lunches at Rosy Tomorrows. Every time we saw each other at events, he would give me a hug and say, “Let’s take a picture so I can end up on Facebook.”
Well, my friend, you’re on Instagram, too.
Mr. Molinaro always cared about how I was doing, and despite our starkly different political views, what connected us was our shared humanity and the pain of loss.
I will cherish his gregarious nature, and I know our city mourns the passing of this great Danburian. |

On Tuesday, I joined my colleagues Reps. Ken Gucker, Raghib Allie-Brennan and Bob Godfrey at Western Connecticut State University for a robust discussion with constituents on a variety of issues and challenges facing Danbury and the state.
I look forward to holding more events where we can share our ideas and priorities to bring back to the Capitol.
Thank you to all who attended. |

I always look forward to New Hope Baptist Church's annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration every year. It’s always a day full of inspiration and learning.
From the amazing youth choir to the sounds of the Danbury High School Jazz Band and madrigals, to the powerful skits bringing civil rights history to life, every moment reminds me of the importance of community.
And, of course, Rev. L. Christopher Lewis, Sr. always brings the most inspiring words.
Huge thanks to Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Sapp Jones, Ms. Gladys Cooper, and everyone involved in making this event so special. We’ve still got work to do to carry on Dr. King’s legacy of community over chaos! |

In 1898, 260 brave American heroes lost their lives in the sinking of the USS Maine, an event that contributed to the onset of the Spanish-American War.
The Danbury Council of Veterans consistently honors and memorializes this solemn occasion.
I am proud to live in a community that always recognizes and respects our veterans. Special shoutout to the City’s Director of Veteran Affairs, Danny Hayes who always goes above and beyond for our veterans and seniors. |

Severe Cold Weather Protocol in Effect |
|
|
Governor Ned Lamont announced last week that the state’s severe cold weather protocol will be in effect until noon on Saturday, Feb. 22. During this time, temperatures are expected to drop to the single-digits.
While activated, the protocol initiates a series of actions to ensure that the most vulnerable populations receive protection from the severe cold.
To find warming centers, please call 2-1-1. |

As always, if you have any comments, questions or concerns, please reach out to my office.
Sincerely,
 Farley Santos |
