TUESDAY STORM UPDATE

We still have 3,500 people without power as of our 9:00 a.m. meeting with CL&P this morning. They expect 1,000 to be restored today. But my skepticism continues. My advice is to be prepared not to have power until Friday. While many will be restored before then there are neighborhoods where the damage is so extensive (e.g. the Ox Yoke area and the Lincoln Lane area) it just doesn’t seem possible to me that they’ll be restored by tomorrow.

There are 92 crews in Simsbury today, according to CL&P

If you don’t have power even after your area is restored and your neighbors are all lit then call CL&P to report your address, otherwise they may assume everyone in the neighborhood is restored. CL&P’s number is 1-800-286-2000 or 860-947-2000.

CL&P has dedicated staffing for a help and information desk for Simsbury residents. Beatrice, from CL&P, can be reached at 860-658-3279 between 8:00 am and 6:30 pm.

The Town is delaying the start of debris pick up but is still hoping to start by Thursday November 10th. It will take some time to complete and they are rushing to get it done before the next snow storm.

Schools will be open tomorrow, Wednesday. Some alternate bus routes had to be established. The Board of Education is making phone calls and sending e-mail regarding these alternate routes. You can call the Board of Education offices at 860-651-3361 if you don’t get their communications.
