Hurricane Harvey - How to Help

Tropical Storm Harvey continues to threaten lives and property in Texas and Louisiana. Harvey hit the Gulf Coast as a category three hurricane over the weekend and the devastating rains and rising flood waters have displaced thousands from their homes.

Residents affected by Harvey need help with food, water, medicine, temporary shelter and other support. Below are several emergency relief organizations that are accepting donations to help victims of the storm:

A health-focused relief and development organization based in Stamford.

Greater Houston Community Foundation
The mayor of Houston has set up an official relief fund through this local nonprofit.

Houston Food Bank
Food banks will be stretched thin in the aftermath of Harvey. The Houston Food Bank serves thousands of people in the Houston area.

Save the Children
This Fairfield-based nonprofit has staff on the ground to distribute child and family essentials that may not be provided with regular relief supplies.
