Education funding

It should not be assumed that wealthy towns, or towns perceived to be wealthy, can afford the steep cuts in education funding under the governor’s latest budget proposal.

Interviewed by The Hartford Courant, Rep. Derek Slap said, “When it comes to the public schools, we have folks that are wealthy, we have middle-income families and we have very low-income families, and they all send their kids to the same public schools."
