Colder temperatures will soon give way to higher heating bills. November is Heating Assistance Awareness Month in Connecticut, and we are informing residents about several programs available that can help pay or lower their heating bills this winter.

Access Health CT's Open Enrollment period begins today through January 15, 2025. Connecticut residents can shop, compare, and enroll in health insurance plans or renew their coverage. Customers may also enroll in dental insurance through AHCT.

I was proud to join Barbara Fair, Stop Solitary CT, advocates, and supporters for a press conference at the Legislative Office Building on Monday to address violations of the Protect Act, a piece of legislation signed in 2022 to curb solitary confinement use and provide more transparency and oversight over the Department of Corrections.

Several new laws passed during the 2024 legislative session will go into effect on Tuesday, October 1st.
