Rep. Diana Urban praises North Stonington Elementary School for its achievement.

The state Department of Education has recognized North Stonington Elementary School as a School of Distinction for the 2015-16 school year.

To qualify for the distinction, a school cannot have high achievement gaps or high graduation rate gaps, and must also meet participation rate requirements.

“Connecticut students are making good progress – I applaud their work and our teachers and educators for their commitment to our young people,” Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman said in a statement.

During a school assembly and band concert, Rep. Diana Urban presents a General Assembly Citation to the school in recognition of its achievement.
