Debating voting rights for individuals on parole

May 8, 2018

I spoke in favor of a measure that would restore voting rights of convicted felons on parole, as long as they have not been convicted of an election related felony House Bill 5418. Sadly, this bill didn’t come up for a vote, but I wanted to share my remarks on the House floor.

There are two systems in the State of Connecticut to prevent people from confinement – Parole and Probation. This system doesn’t allow individuals on parole to vote, but it does allow those on probation to do so. Please watch below for more.
