Dear Neighbor,

I would like to thank all the school officials and especially the students at Norwich Free Academy for making my "Bring Your Rep to School Day" experience this week a memorable one.

After all, NFA is my alma mater so it was truly an honor and privilege to share my knowledge as a legislator and engage with the students - the highlight of my day!

Here is a look at how my exciting, jam-packed day went!
I sit on the Joint Committee on Judiciary. I serve as Vice Chair of the Labor and Public Employees Committee.

I am also on the

Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee. This committee, in part, has jurisdiction over all matters relating to finance, revenue, capital bonding, fees, and taxation. Financial literacy is important to me and discussing it was an integral part of my visit.

I think our young people must understand the importance of financial responsibility. I was beyond pleased to share my knowledge, particularly, with students who live in the district I represent, but also walk the same school hallways I did.

It was a special day and, again, thanks to everyone for having me. Let's do it again, soon!

As always, if I can be of assistance, please reach out to me at 860-240-8585 or email me at Derell.Wilson@cga.ct.gov.

Sincerely,

Derell Wilson
State Representative
