Labor Deal Saves State $$$June 4, 2017
The Hartford Courant had a great column on the labor deal, New Long-Term Savings Figures For State Employee Concessions Show It's A Solid Deal.
Business columnist Dan Haar said, “...the deal with the state unions is good for the taxpayers and the state's economy in the long run.”
It includes more savings than Gov. Malloy suggested - The deal would save the state $700 million in direct costs in the upcoming fiscal year and more than $800 million in the following year and employee costs would fall by 13 percent in first year of biennium.
