Transportation Lockbox

June 6, 2017

For Connecticut to compete with New York and Massachusetts, we must invest in our transportation infrastructure. Connecticut’s future social and economic growth depends on it.

I am pleased to announce the House passed House Joint Resolution 100, which will put the question before the voters on the ballot in the November 2018 elections to amend the State Constitution to ensure that monies in the Special Transportation Fund (STF) be used solely for transportation related costs – a transportation “lock box”. This is a good measure that will ensure, if approved by voters, that all money collected through various fees in the STF is only spent on transportation costs.
