Funding for Alewife Cove Restoration

December 6, 2023

I was thrilled to hear that earlier this week, $526,600 in grant and matching funds was given to restore Alewife Cove in New London.

The grant comes from the Long Island Sound Futures Fund, which announced 39 grants totaling $12 million to organizations and local governments to improve the health of Long Island Sound.

Good news! The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced the following projects for the installation and revision of traffic signals in Groton and New London are scheduled to start Organizational Phase 1 on Friday, Nov. 24:
Groton - U.S. Route 1 at Ring Dr. & Ella T. Grasso Technical School
Groton - Route 1 at Central Ave & Drive to Bellows Park
New London - S.R. 641 (Truman St.) at Blackhall St. & Blinman St.
