Michael DiGiovancarlo is serving his second term as the State Representative of the 74th District, proudly representing the people of the East Mountain and East End neighborhoods of Waterbury in the General Assembly. In 2021, Representative DiGiovancarlo became the first Democrat to represent the 74th District in over 20 years. He currently serves as vice chair of the Public Safety committee. He also serves on the Veterans and Military Affairs and Aging committees.

Michael is a lifelong Waterbury resident who has actively worked to improve his community. He is a 18-year veteran of the Waterbury Police Department and is currently serving as a community relations officer. He has also served on the Waterbury Board of Alderman for the past eight years, currently as the Board’s President.

Representative DiGiovancarlo is a staunch advocate for public safety in Waterbury and across the state. He also supports small businesses and improving our state education system. He will make sure the needs and concerns of Waterbury's residents are heard and addressed.

Michael lives in Waterbury with his wife, Tracy and his two sons.
