The Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) has created a $50 million grant program to help small businesses in Connecticut recover from the ongoing challenges of COVID-19.

In the coming days, small businesses and nonprofits impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic will be able to apply for a one-time $5,000 grant through the Connecticut CARES Small Business Grant Program.

With the rise in COVID cases, New Haven’s decision to move to Tier II may harm some small businesses and nonprofits temporarily.

As many families struggle with the challenges of COVID-19, Access Health has opened enrollment for those with a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) defined as, "A change in your life — like losing health coverage, getting married, having a baby or moving to Connecticut..." This includes the loss of a job and health insurance because of the pandemic.
