Earlier today, I proudly accepted the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., New Haven Metropolitan Chapter Visionary Award "in recognition of your outstanding service and unwavering commitment to advancing bills that touch on health and wellness, equity for all."

The Public Safety Informational Forum "Understanding Violent Extremism and Its Impact on Our Community" has been rescheduled to Monday, June 1, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Avon High School.

I am proud to share that there will be an Appropriations Committee Public Hearing on Thursday, where HB5447, An Act Implementing Recommendations of the Transforming Children's Behavioral Health Policy and Planning Committee and Concerning Temporary Family Assistance Benefit, will be discussed in Room 2C of the LOB and via Zoom.

Come celebrate Black entrepreneurship, innovation, economic power, and more at the third annual Black Business Expo at the West Hartford Conference Center in the Town Hall on Monday.

Connecticut increased its Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) to 40% of the federal credit for the 2024-2025 tax year, providing a significant, refundable tax boost to low-income working families. Eligible residents must file a state income tax return and claim the credit to receive it.

I hope you can join local leaders and me at West Hartford's 4th Annual Black History Month Breakfast at the Noah Webster Library on Thursday, February 26th, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The event will include a meaningful and engaging conversation with local community leaders whose stories and service have helped shape West Hartford.

I hope you can join us tonight for a West Hartford Legislative Delegation Town Hall beginning at 6 p.m., right on the heels of opening day of the 2026 legislative session on Wednesday, which included the governor's address, and a regular session today. I look forward to seeing you.
