First, I want to wish everyone a happy, safe and healthy new year. I'm looking forward to a productive 2026 representing Waterford and Montville at the State Capitol.

I want to take a moment to wish each and every member of our community and all of our loved ones a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a happy New Year! I hope the end of this year is spent enjoying peace and joy with friends and family.

Due to a system outage that may have prevented many customers from enrolling in health and dental coverage by the Dec. 15, deadline for coverage effective Jan. 1, Access Health CT is extending the enrollment deadline. Customers now have until Saturday, Dec. 20, at 3 p.m. to enroll in coverage beginning Jan. 1.

I will be holding a Special Session Town Meeting on Dec. 16 in Waterford. Learn more about what the state legislature did in special session last month to address federal budget shortfalls, the housing crisis, and children's behavioral health, among other things.

State Rep. Kevin Ryan passed away yesterday at the age of 73.
