It's been a busy and productive session so far, which has included extensive committee work and support for issues including universal school meals and just cause tenants rights protections, among other things.

Given how brutal the weather has been this winter, including two blizzards as well as very low temperatures, I am providing some resources for 38th District residents who may need some assistance.

The session opened on Wednesday this week and we immediately got to work.

With Martin Luther King Jr. Day approaching, many of us recall the powerful words of “I Have a Dream.” That speech matters deeply, but Dr. King’s legacy is far bigger than a single moment or quotation.

I want to take a moment to wish each and every member of our community and all of our loved ones a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a happy New Year! I hope the end of this year is spent enjoying peace and joy with friends and family.

Due to a system outage that may have prevented many customers from enrolling in health and dental coverage by the Dec. 15, deadline for coverage effective Jan. 1, Access Health CT is extending the enrollment deadline. Customers now have until Saturday, Dec. 20, at 3 p.m. to enroll in coverage beginning Jan. 1.
