I was proud to join the legislature in a special session to debate several important bills including housing, children's behavioral health, and setting aside state funding to offset federal budget cuts.

All Connecticut SNAP recipients have access to their FULL November benefits on their EBT cards. 

Despite the Trump administration's continued efforts to take food away from our neighbors, Connecticut is backfilling SNAP benefits to ensure funding is available. We refuse to let Republicans in Washington play games with food assistance.

There are a number of resources available to help those struggling to pay their heating bills this winter.

Governor Ned Lamont announced $3 million in emergency state funding for Connecticut Foodshare to assist residents expected to lose access to federal food assistance. 

Several new laws took effect on Oct. 1 touching on senior safety, e-bike and motorcycle safety, as well as street takeovers. I also want to warn you of a new texting scam involving phony tax refunds.

Veterans, service members, and their loved ones are encouraged to attend the Connecticut Veterans Stand Down event on Fri. Sept. 19 at the University of Bridgeport. The state is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

On September 11, we pause to honor the memory of all the victims and the countless lives forever changed on this day 24 years ago. The attacks left an indelible mark in Bridgeport and the rest of the nation.

Bus service for Bridgeport Public Schools students will resume this fall under a new deal, reducing costs while restoring and streamlining routes.
