Important Update: New Courthouse Policy on ICE Arrests

I write today to express my unequivocal support for State Representative Corey Paris. Last week, Rep. Paris issued a simple message on social media: to remain vigilant in light of reports of ICE activity, and to look out for one another. His message was rooted in compassion and concern for his community.

Tomorrow, June 19th, is Juneteenth. Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in our country.

Wednesday night marked the end of my first session at the State Capitol. It has been an honor and a privilege to represent the residents of the 148th district.

Good morning, and happy Mental Health Awareness Month. I write to inform you that my colleagues and I have been hard at work passing bills this session. In the past few days, we passed a workers’ compensation bill that would have resulted in a potential 265% increase in workman’s compensation had we not acted, saving CT businesses millions of dollars.

On Wednesday, the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, with the fall of Saigon, the Connecticut House of Representatives unanimously passed (146-0-5) what we call the “HERO Act.”

The HERO Act (HB 6442) is the result of a bipartisan effort and is a comprehensive package of legislation that reflects collaboration, listening, and a deep, collective respect for those who wore the uniform and served our country.
