Scanlon Announces State Funding For Guilford Public Schools

Representative Sean Scanlon joined Senator Ted Kennedy Jr., Representative Vincent Candelora and Governor Dannel P. Malloy today to announce $70,000 in new state funding for Guilford public schools.

Starting in 2013, Guilford schools began equipping K-12 students with Chromebook personal computer notebooks so that every student in Guilford would have access to a computer, the internet, and modern technology. With this funding, Guilford is close to their goal of providing this access to 100 percent of students.

Preventing Substance Abuse

Representative Sean Scanlon has been chosen by AIDS Connecticut to receive their 2015 Clarence Daniels Award for Outstanding Advocacy for his efforts to pass Public Act 15-198: An Act Concerning Substance Abuse and Opioid Overdose Protection. The new law, PA 15-198, took effect on October 1st.

Grant Going To Lake Quonnipaug

Deputy Republican Leader Vincent Candelora, Representative Sean Scanlon and Senator Ted Kennedy announced that the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has authorized funding for the remediation of aquatic invasive species at Lake Quonnipaug.
