I joined some of my colleagues, parents, business owners, and advocates on Early Childhood Advocacy Day at the State Capitol to underscore just how critical sustained funding for child care and early childhood education is for our children and the strength of our state.

House Democrats proposed a new plan to add funds to public schools across Connecticut, directly addressing affordability. The bill would alleviate the burden on local property taxpayers this upcoming year.

The Education Committee met on Wednesday to discuss, vote on, and advance many important proposals, including the bill addressing homeschooling in the state.

I joined my colleagues in passing legislation last week affecting our classrooms, law enforcement, and elections. Several important bills are up for debate that would make a huge difference for our veterans.

The state is offering help for anyone who needs help with student loan payments. A growing debate is forming over whether smartphones belong in our classrooms. There are serious safety concerns after at least two troubling traffic incidents involving school buses.
