JFK Middle School State Bonding Passes House, Senate

July 23, 2019

I was pleased to cast my vote in favor of school construction funds which passed both the House and Senate Monday and now await Gov. Ned Lamont's signature.

This is a good thing for Enfield and JFK Middle School in particular, which will receive a grant for $59, 365, 050 of the $84, 373, 294 total cost of the project.

The project will include 36 new classrooms, 10 special classrooms, new office space and class space for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math), a new school entry system and much more.

School construction funds were approved by the General Assembly for eight schools in seven towns including Enfield, Newington, Middletown, Simsbury, Bridgeport, Norwalk and Fairfield.
