Funding Approved for the Tankerhoosen Lake Area

December 20, 2023

The state of CT has approved a grant of $300,000 that is intended for various repairs and updates around the Tankerhoosen lake area.
The Tankerhoosen is a valuable gem in the town of Vernon.  It has a proud history as a source of natural beauty and recreation dating back generations. DEEP has deemed the dam as a hazard, and it is important that we take measures to remediate this problem.  Many residents around the lake have expressed frustration that it has been neglected and this could be the start of improving it for the generations to come.
