The Start to the Session

February 9, 2024
The legislative session has officially started! On Wednesday, I was in Hartford to commence this year's busy and productive process to make Connecticut's future the best it can be.

Some priorities of the session for my colleagues and I include:

  • Helping Seniors
  • Improving Childcare
  • Advancing Childhood Nutrition
  • Addressing Climate Change
  • Protecting Businesses & Employees
However, this isn't just relegated to me. Now that the session has commenced, the process is just beginning. There will be public hearings to discuss some of the most pressing issues and you can make your voice heard!
Combating Homelessness and Improving Housing
Last Monday, February 5, I attended a press conference with some of my fellow legislators regarding homelessness and housing programs in Connecticut. Now that the session has officially started, housing in our state will be something that will demand our focus so that we do not let this problem become worse than it already has.
Recognizing Local Excellence

Many former Vernon students have been named to the Dean's List at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). As a teacher myself, our student's success makes me proud of our local education and our future.

I always love to make the time to recognize excellence from Vernon.

If you wish to see the list of students, check it out here at the Patch.
