Joe Serra: Respected and Loved. He will Be Missed.

Good morning,

I hope you and your family had a very happy Thanksgiving. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the passing of my predecessor, Joseph Serra.

Joe was my predecessor in the State House, where he served for 28 years. He was well known throughout town and at the Capitol for his love of Middletown, his sense of humor, and the stories he would tell. Upon being elected, I noticed that not a single person at the Capitol had anything bad to say about Joe. This is truly rare and remarkable for someone being involved in politics for so long, and it is a testament to his character.

He was truly respected and loved and will be missed. Joe reminds us that no matter how divided we are politically we can still have respect for one another on a personal level. My thoughts are with the Serra family as they grieve this loss.
