Join Me For Housing Forum & $40M For Special Education

February 21, 2025

I would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in our session update last week in New Canaan. High school interns, Will and Spencer, moderated the event and did a splendid job ensuing a smooth and engaging experience for all.
This weekend, I will be part of a housing forum to discuss housing laws and proposed legislation. You will find more details below if you want to join us!

The state legislature plans to vote next week on a bill to provide $40 million in state funding for Special Education. I'll break down how this investment will make a big difference.

I urge you to participate in the democratic process by testifying in next week's public hearings. From school meals, to artificial intelligence, to a refundable child tax credit, there is so much to cover. Please read below to see what other proposals are on the docket.

Join Me at a Housing Forum on Saturday
You're invited to join House Majority Leader Jason Rojas and the Ridgefield Delegation on Saturday for an important discussion about Connecticut's current housing laws and proposed housing legislation for this year's session. We will be at the Ridgefield Library on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
This is an opportunity to learn more, share your thoughts, and ask questions about how these housing policies affect our communities and the future of housing in our state. I hope to see you there and look forward to an engaging conversation!

$40 Million in Special Education Funding
Next week, my colleagues in the State House and Senate will vote on an immediate $40 million investment to municipalities to support Special Education for the current fiscal year. The state will distribute this critical funding to the cities and towns with the greatest need, providing vital resources that will make a significant difference for our students and families.
Now is the time to act, as Boards of Education across the state are actively developing their budgets. This infusion of state funds will help school districts lower costs, strengthen services, and provide every child access to the quality education they deserve.
