We Must Never Forget 9/11

September 10, 2018

Our nation changed 17 years ago after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks shook the foundation of the United States.

Despite the tragedy, the trauma, and the despair of those attacks, we stood together in solidarity and resilience to remember who we are as Americans and what we believe in.

I would like to extend an invitation for you to join me for the City of Torrington's 9/11 Memorial Service to commemorate the 17th Anniversary of the terrorist attack on the U.S.

The memorial service will be held at the City of Torrington 9/11 Memorial, located at the North Firehouse at 899 Main St at 8:30 a.m.

I would also like to take the time to tell you that on Friday, September 21, the CT Department of Veterans Affairs will be holding a Stand Down event at its Rocky Hill campus, offering veterans medical screenings, employment and educational assistance, recovery services, and more.

Free transportation is available at designated areas. Click here for more information and the transportation schedule. Please share this information if you know a veteran who could benefit from these services!
